How to Bookmark YouTube Videos — Save Moments with Context

Content reviewed

Start by deciding what you want to return to: the whole video, one starting point, or a section with a note. That choice determines what to save and how much context you need.

Browser bookmark with a timestamp

What you keepA URL with a start time and your bookmark name

Useful whenYou need one moment and a short label

Klipse library clip

What you keepA source video, start/end times, title, note and tags

Useful whenYou want to organise sections with context

A timestamp URL can be saved as a normal browser bookmark. Give it a descriptive name: “Example transition — 1:23” is easier to recognise later than an unedited video title. Use the timestamp generator if you need the URL first.

Save a section with context in Klipse

  1. Create an account and add the video URL to your library.
  2. Open the video and create a clip with start and end times. Add a title that describes what happens in the passage.
  3. Write a note about why you saved it, and add a tag if you want to group related clips.
  4. Place the clip in a playlist. Choose private for your own material, or public/link sharing when you want other people to open it.

Give the clip a title you would search for later. In the note, write why you saved the moment and what you want to check when you return. Add a tag that helps you group related clips.

AI can suggest draft clips from accessible YouTube captions. Review each suggestion in the video before relying on it. Library search uses the titles, notes and tags you save, along with video and channel titles; it does not search everything spoken in the video.

Try choosing a section

In the example below, seek to 0:05 and press IN. Seek to 0:15 and press OUT, then Loop. This selects a ten-second section for playback.

Example video: “Me at the zoo”. This demo does not save a clip or transfer a selection to an account.

Know what your library keeps

The Free plan allows up to 25 saved videos and 5 private playlists. Manual clips within those videos do not spend AI credits. Public and link-shared playlists have no separate plan limit. Check your AI balance in the app. Pro costs $9.90 USD per month.

Saved clips reference original media. If a source is removed, made private or restricted, its saved notes can remain useful but playback may stop working. A link-shared playlist is accessible to anyone who has its URL.
